*David on keyboards and backed by expertly by David Mullins on guitar played an excellent set on Monday.
He sang 8 songs: One Old Soul, Time, Don’t Ask Why, Insomnia, Northern lights, Rocket Man, Salt Water, White Noise. The gig had lots of energy and top vocals.
The 2 new songs have a different ‘feel’ and energy about them – they are instantly catchy with thoughtful themes.
It’s a very sunny nearly May day. David has taken a break to focus on his writing and will be performing some new songs at the Boardwalk Sheffield. The Boardwalk is a music venue in the centre of town. I was there two years ago for the Sham gig and thought it was a fun venue. The streets were covered in slushy snow then.
I was looking forward to seeing everyone again.
David has been very busy, been in Glasgow working over the week end. He seems motivated and positive. Several times he ran back and forth up the venue and gave us all the ‘royal wave’!
NEW SONGS
‘Don’t Ask Why’: New energy. Lovely song and great vocals. ( I only ask why? I can’t hear your music more?)
‘Salt Water’: Another departure. David’s songs take unexpected turns, yet satisfy too.
If anyone doubts hwo happy David is composing and playing they need only look at the pics.
( Chris Townsend was supporting - he played a good set and projected himself well)
PS In the Boardwalk pics David has 'yellow glow hair' the way the light was hitting the back of his head! lol - a bit strange.
