"WHITE NOISE" EP -‘Offers a timeless authentic sound. His music portrays wide-ranging moods with his pure sensual vocals in contrast to his positive notes piano. His voice is one moment melancholy and then tender, evocative and forceful. His classic songs express the joy of love and offer a subtle blend of sensitive melody and rhythmic moods. Engaging and absorbing.’
David Sneddon Fansite BLOG
David is a writer of melodramatic popular songs.
Rarely in a lifetime a voice captures your attention with its depth and beauty, with it's ability to move in profound ways.
David is an inspiring artist and storyteller.
Many artists seek to ‘entertain’ – you seek ‘musical credibility’, a much harder goal to attain but a much more worthwhile goal also.
Your music helps me through, stops time, offers new horizons.
2011 has been a highly successful one for David’s writing career. He has written with well respected
Eg White and many other top songwriters. I hope 2012 brings even more successes for David.
It is 9 years now! I hope my playlists, writing, thoughts, images, improve with time. I do 5 sites for David, for 9 years now. David’s covers of Elton and the Beatles are the best I've heard and part of the reason I’m such a massive fan.
David Sneddon has written songs for Lana Del Rey -
'National Anthem' a track from Lana Del Rey's debut album 'Born To Die' was co-written with David Sneddon and The Nexus.
Belief ....I feel I've just had my long held belief in David validated overnight it seems...! To all those other fans who have bolstered and supported me with their equal belief, I send my huge vote of thanks. Early January I felt so calm about David as if all the times of 'worrying' over him had lifted and floated away.
You can hear his songs from 2003 & 2006 -
DAVID works with the UK based Songwriting and Music Production team "The Nexus" and has been building a strong reputation as a Songwriter the past years. The Nexus" work on major label projects across the UK, Europe and US. "The Nexus" also specialise in the discovery of new talent, assisting in their development and have successfully taken several artists from independent to major label status.
He is the songwriter behind sythpop duo HURTS album 'Happiness', 'Illuminated', 'Silver Lining' and' Blood Tears and Gold.' David has co-written songs for 2010 X Factor winner Matt Cardle's debut album "Letters" released in October 2011 which reached No 2 UK charts.
I enjoy to support David and his music but feel so sad for his hiding. I have written David Sneddon's Wikipedia page, his Bio, Photos, reviews and more the past 8 years. Always believe in you....
I guess his music inspires me.... http://davidsneddonmusic.blogspot.com/
Since 2008, the past 3 years since David chose to focus on his songwriting, I hoped I might follow his writing career. It's been hard detective work with his hiding his identity. I only post here about artists the press have already published online and that appear to be 'officially' connected to David's work.
I miss the searching poignancy of your voice.
Your gripping piano, The joy of your words.
I wrote once that your songs were 'timeless' and they never age. That's a sign of a true artist. You have something new to say in your songs and there are few artists that I can say that about.
It is wonderful to know that your writing is going so well. I am so full of joy for your successes
If you check out David's newer songs on Youtube and myspace they are entirely different from the over-produced sound of his hit singles after the show in 2003. It is not simply about the words, the notes or the rhythms – you link it home and connect to the heart.
Its in the way that your voice goes soft on the verse which is very poignant and then soars and is so emotionally moving..
David wanted to be an artist and not a popstar with all that entails, so he took a back seat to be a writer.
As Joni Mitchell once said ' What do you want to be, a rock n’ roll star or an artist?’ You can't want to be both. David has something important to say in his music and a beautiful voice to say it with, so I hope he will sing again one day.
It has been a long road being David's supporter (so much for fast fame!?) - sometimes the journey has had long down times with all the years of his hiding and the waiting for any news at all. There have been times I have questioned but I always held on to my belief in his talents after hearing his album and his new songs.
So many wonderful times. And I know too how much his music means to people. I like to hope it is really about the journey as an artist.

I will never forget those moments - the first time hearing 'One Old Soul' live at the Bedford - and hearing 'No More Words'
at the Guildford gig. I was blown away entirely....
His voice at times cracks or sits on the edge -
it can be quietly thoughtful and then reaching out with strong high notes with his beautiful tenor.
An instrument of deep beauty.
He used to sing with John Kielty, whose gentler baritone created a seamless match to his and those gigs back in 2006 gave us moments of wonder and perfect escape...
I enjoy voices that offer something I've never heard before, with a unique quality.
These images of David's Portfolio are newly edited 2011 in creamtone black and white, are shots taken at his 2006, 2007 and 2008 acoustic gigs. They are available to buy and in book form -
Unlike any other singer, quite simply his songs
break my heart - his subtle, pure tenor voice brings varied musical brush strokes, from thoughtful moods to tearing heartbreak.
It's all about the SONG - for David this is the centre and heart of his craft - with the emotional style of his piano, his voice tears at the heart and soars with deep passions. Classic songwriting and soulful singing. Unbelievably heart-wrenching - you believe it because you are there in the song.
His music has a subtle intensity - as if held back while also very deep. A purity of emotion.
Review Regal Room
It was probably the best Sneddon gig I've been to, seriously lost for words on the whole night! I was really close (just centimetres away from the stage) and chatting to him was fab! I even got a birthday kiss. My greatest achievement that night has got to be winning over all my mates. They weren't too happy to see David live, but once his set finished they were all gobsmacked. I even got a few of them to buy the EP!
The room was cosy, the sound travelled through well and the atmosphere was electric!
David's vocals were MORE than spot on, you'd never have guessed he had "man flu".
It was the first time I heard Northern Lights, which was rather incredible. I've started to expect remarkable songs from David now, but he never fails to go that extra mile making it that bit more mind-blowing. A fantastic start to an evening of fabulous music! It even started with a small wave in my face from Mr.Sneddon, gotta love his interaction with the fans! Uma

I had heard his recordings but was not prepared for his live voice. This tall, smartly dressed man with boyish good looks and a huge smile and charm to match, takes to his piano as the one place he looks truly comfortable and at ease. He addresses the audience with friendly and warm banter - and then we hear his VOICE. It won him a tv show and is instantly transporting, seeming to reach that deep place inside and tell of dreamy long late nights.
A soaring tenor falsetto that is the clearest, purest and heart-wrenching vocal. The way he plays those piano keys with dynamic emotional rhythms, the strumming guitar, his expressions and the soaring long note chorus. The music allows me to feel and that it is OK to do so - offering an emotional release. His songs tell of characters in a moment and stories that I can vividly imagine. It brings all the highs, passions and lows of romance - I am lost in the moment and a captive to his melodies, voice, and songs.
His 2003 album songs were autobiographical. His 2006 songs about the self reflected in others.
While not the acoustic style of his 2007 White Noise ep - these songs have even more raw emotion and depth.

-----------------------
In 2008 and 2009 David decided to focus on his songwriting career, while he also performed a few occasional gigs in London over this time. He signed in 2009 with new management and to major publisher Sony/ATV in July 2009, as a songwriter. He has been working with several high profile, as well as highly-anticipated emerging artists in 2009 and 2010.
With some exciting releases expected.
DAVID SNEDDON _ musician, songwriter, singer...
David and his piano make wonderful music...David is a cool classy bright very ‘modern’ guy, who sings like an angel and writes moving melodies and songs with honest passions. with his perfect smile David bares his heart....his voice is tender and joyful, aching and true. He works as a songwriter in London and describes his music as 'melody-driven'
The Jazz Bar photos as PRINTS are possibly the most beautiful subtle photos I've ever taken. I hope they capture three very poignant and emotional gigs - with John, many longtime fans and family. I feel so many emotions when I see them, or hear the gigs. They were so much fun - but also filled with 'what ifs' when I listened to John and David on the Saturday, wondering when I might - if ever, hear them sing again together. Their voices blend perfectly and I always noticed how much they enjoyed playing together on stage. So many hopes and dreams....
Dec 2009 - Regal Room January gig is cancelled due to David's writing commitments and his possibly being out of the country early 2010. David blog -
he feels very badly about letting people down and says he plans to re-schedule the gig. The good news is his writing work is going very well.
JULY 2009 – David performed at the Regal Rooms London. He was being a judge for a singer songwriter night and performed after.
No idea what he sang. Apparently some fans knew about this gig (?) We've not heard David do a gig for over a year it would be wonderful to hear him sing. Disappointing.
THE BEDFORD for Scotcare, OCT 2008
David Sneddon sang Deacon Blues ' Dignity' at the gig on the 9th for new Scottish song.
Over 5 years of my photos from the live gigs that he performed in 2003 to the Scotcare gig Oct 2008.
EDINBURGH JAZZ BAR REVIEW:
David on stage is very much a fresh-faced, cheeky chappy until he gets behind his piano and then the serious performer takes over. He puts his heart and soul into his music. He played all his own songs, seven in all: the rather poignant, One old soul; the autobiographical Time; Lady Lullaby; Insomnia; Wish you well - my personal favourite; 'White noise', the title track from his current album and finally, by audience request, Stop living the lie.
Sneddon is strong on the piano and is undoubtedly a good singer. His delivery is honest and unaffected which allows the audience, not only to enjoy the natural qualities of his voice, but also to focus on his lyrics which are at some times touching whilst at others provoking and edgy. They are always thoughtful and intelligent. He comes across very much as a person who does not take himself too seriously but as someone who has given total commitment to his music. He clearly enjoys performing.
The audience last night was quick to pick up on this and an immediate rapport was established. As he said, music has been good to him. By forsaking the bubblegum world of pop offered to him through his success in 'Fame Academy' and allowing his depth to show, David Sneddon has in turn been good for music. © 25 August 2007. www.EdinburghGuide.com
Regal Room Gig 28th March 2008
'The strength and edge of David’s high tenor voice, powerful piano, and beautiful songs always takes me to another place.'
The Regal Room venue is perfectly suited to David's still yet vibrant voice. The gigs here are truly about that magic music connection. This isn't my favourite place for photos, dealing with the varied lights, but it's my favourite for music. I was pleased with these photos though, and feel they capture David's depth and integrity.
David sounded wistful ‘ Over the past 6 months I have written over 40 songs, and not one of them for myself – so it's a rather nice experience tonight getting to play my own songs again. '
David's No 1 hit 'STOP LIVING THE LIE'

*David’s NEW SONGS – ‘Colder Blue’
‘The Bricks Move On’ & ‘Rocket Ship’
David links it home and connects to the heart.
' David the new songs are very clever, they make me think of other songs, yet I can’t think of what at all. Your piano playing has warm emotions and soul. These songs are more multidimensional, yet light in feel, more depth in the lyrics and themes. You write the best melodies, and combined with your vocals, so many stirring emotions.
* “IT'S BEEN to the industry's benefit that the Paisley lad chose music over his other passion, football. ...he has gone on to success not only as a singer, but more notably, as a songwriter for many top names.” Scotsman Dec 2007
JAZZ BAR EDINBURGH REVIEWS -
David played sold out gigs at the festival.
'His set was far too short, and I felt he has something new in his songs, which are sensitive and sincere.' Singer
'David brings a new and distinctive sound & voice - with dynamic piano playing & clear emotionally passionate vocals & melodies.
His song conjure vivid images, the way folk songs do. '
"My EP White Noise
is the first thing I've recorded for release in a few years. The idea behind it is to take the live acoustic vibe from my recent gigs and try to bring out a little extra in the studio. Everything you hear is pretty much recorded in one continuous take, to keep the authentic live feel, and I've left in all the little creaks and squeaks from piano stools, feet tapping etc... to add to the white noise behind the songs." David Jan 2007
‘WHITE NOISE' EP - No 1 Indiestore
Offers a timeless authentic sound.
David's music portrays wide-ranging moods with his pure sensual vocals in strong contrast to his hard hitting ‘positive notes’ piano. His voice is one moment melancholy and then tender, evocative and then forceful, led by his strong dynamic piano playing. David’s music is about the depth of emotional journeys - about the joy of love. It brings a subtle blend of sensitive melody and rhythmic moods.
David brings his heart and soul to his music. If music can heal then David’s is the perfect escape....David’s voice has perfect pitch, timing, expression and tone. His going for the acoustic impact of a ‘one live take’ on the recording works perfectly.
All 4 tracks are stand outs - the optimistic White Noise, the energetic moving melody of 'One Old Soul', the joyous Time, and the soothing romantic Lady Lullaby.
Engaging and absorbing.
Originally from Paisley near Glasgow, David works with many top names in the music business in London. He has an instinctive knack for a beautiful melody. He has found his niche with melodic, heartfelt songs that are simply honest and real.
The White Noise EP - topped the Indie charts for 3 months – at No.1 for several weeks, and then sticking at No. 3 for another month.
David has been concentrating on songwriting the last few years, and has a string of hits world wide, one for soul singer Nate James and for Dutch artist, Van Velsen. He is currently writing with Julian Perretta.
He performs his own acoustic songs and describes his music as 'melody driven'.
David shows a maturity of style with personal yet edgy & sensitive piano-based songs. The gigs have had responsive audiences and the songs been well received. David has taken his new sound acoustic & raw. It is truly involving & authentic & combines a contemporary feel with David’s Scottish roots.
He has a talent for striking piano riffs and melodies that linger. His music offers an emotional release. David's strength is the passion and range in his voice, matched with heartfelt personal songs.
*In March 2006 David put himself out there on Myspace, and he says his new album has an 'acoustic indie pop' feel to it..., but most importantly it has some strong melodic songs.

I've written many reviews (which are posted on the site) and it is hard to explain in words what David's live gigs have meant to his fans. I hope that my photos express this better than any words can.
