My Kilsyth Festival Photos Aug 2007
12th August 2007
David – I thought your set was so right. You looked very well, and it’s obvious you are very happy. I felt positive vibes. People enjoy hearing your hits and Elton’s Rocket Man went down well. A big big treat to hear your moving song ‘Wish You Well’ live at last! I hope it’s fun for you coming up here to perform.
Kilsyth festival was fun. The rain held off. I spent the day doing photographs which was a learning curve for me!! I got a tour and tips from Jim who has done photo’s for Robbie, T in the Park, NME, Wickerman and more. So slightly daunting! Cool park for a festival I thought – intimate and well layed out. With the rain a few slippery puddles. David looked striking in black and white shirt and sang passionately with depth. He was on around 3, a good time – the weather was clear by then and crowd was comfortable on the grassy slope. They enjoyed David's set and hearing his hits. I was worried for a moment he’d forgotten the words to Wish You Well! I enjoy David when he’s at ease and upbeat, even that bit of swagger if it’s not over done.
David sang 8 songs - One Old Soul, Don’t Let Go, Time, Rocket Man, Lady Lullaby, Stop living the Lie/ Nothing ever Happens, Wish you well, White Noise.
The light was perfect, and it was great fun taking photos at this family festival. David looked so relaxed and like he was simply enjoying himself. This lovely park is only a short drive from where I live - so all in all very convient for me. The festival was well attended with all ages - teenagers, families, older people...I love the fresh colours of these pics. The day was clear but not sunny, perfect. I've put some into old fashoined black and white - but I don't know which I prefer!
KIC festival 2007: Colzium park is an intimate park for a festival, with people dotting the grassy slopes down towards the main Colzium, stage. There was a Japanese tea ceremony in the Walled garden, an enclosed area for dancers and drummers, the waterside stage surrounded by stalls and rides and the Acoustic stage.
KIC was set on 4 stages and fortunately the rain held off. The colourful fun festival provides something for everyone. There were colourful dancers energetic drummers, young rock bands and lots of fun events for families. Billed as a day out for families it attracts a good turn out of around ( ) Headlining was chart topping singer songwriter David Sneddon and in demand Ceilidh band the Peatbog Faeries. The crowd lining the grassy slope at the Colzium stage enjoyed David's set.
A highlight is the Parade from the Colzium house and down through the park, including Rhythm Wave drummers, Pipers, dancers and Majorettes. The festival was very pleased to be able to bring over from Africa ‘Gandawi’ from Ghana, who proved a highlight of the day, bringing their African culture to Scotland.
The Peatbog Fearies ended the day’s entertainment with a blistering set of tunes. They mix Celtic and jazz, with a full brass section. They have an energetic fiddle player, and vary this with the flute. The crowd were on their feet dancing to end a fun and colourful festival.

'WHITE NOISE' EP REVIEWS - This Week's UK indiestore.com Picks: WHITE NOISE DAVID SNEDDON
"... he's a considerable talent who deserves a fairer hearing. With his rich Scots burr much in evidence, this is that fair hearing. Listen up." 17th Jan 2007 Indie Store
His set is far too short, and he has something new in his sincere songs. He is in a different league to most singer songwriters, who don’t touch me in my heart that way.’ Singer
You're such a genuine kind of a singer...your own style, and a wonderful hint of a brogue that just adds to the flavour. So good to hear something that hasn't been chopped up and processed to blandness these days!' opera singer
David puts his heart and soul into his music. He played all his own songs, seven in all: the rather poignant, One old soul; the autobiographical Time; Lady Lullaby; Insomnia; Wish you well - my personal favourite; 'White noise', the title track from his current album and finally, by audience request, Stop living the lie. Sneddon is strong on the piano and is undoubtedly a good singer. His delivery is honest and unaffected which allows the audience, not only to enjoy the natural qualities of his voice, but also to focus on his lyrics which are at some times touching whilst at others provoking and edgy. They are always thoughtful and intelligent. He comes across very much as a person who does not take himself too seriously but as someone who has given total commitment to his music. He clearly enjoys performing. The audience last night was quick to pick up on this and an immediate rapport was established. As he said, music has been good to him. By forsaking the bubblegum world of pop offered to him through his success in 'Fame Academy' and allowing his depth to show, David Sneddon has in turn been good for music. © 25 August 2007. www.EdinburghGuide.com
Jazz Bar Edinburgh 2007 - Fans were buzzing after David’s sold out gigs at the festival. The audience was of every age range and responded enthusiastically. Some fans had travelled many miles to hear David perform. He writes songs with sincere quality. David not only has something new to say, but a distinctive sound and voice - with strong dynamic piano playing and clear emotionally passionate vocals and melodies that reach into your heart. His lyrics are deeply touching, and his songs like folk songs conjure vivid images..
