21/12/05 - A Christmas ‘ Hello’ from David!  
The album is nearly finished, apart from needing a few touches.
The boys spent 72 hours mixing it so that they could go home and relax for xmas. David wishes everyone a good Xmas and new year.
‘Thanks for being patient with me over the last two years... but you'll be glad I took the time to get it right. 2006... I'm back Baby!!’

*01/11/05 - ALBUM VIDEO DIARY   of the Recording sessions. September/ October, have seen David busy in the Recording Studio in London and the recording is going well. One of Dave's favourites is a song about his home town of Glasgow called ‘My Streets.’

*30/09/05 - NEW HOPE There was barely a dry eye in the house as Fame Academy winner David Sneddon performed his song ‘Heart’, written specially for Struan. “I’ve told the society it’s theirs. I just wrote about my experiences with the kids.” David performed the song for the first time on the piano he wrote his number one hit ‘Stop Living The Lie’ on. A benefactor gifted the piano to Struan and it sits in the foyer of the new building. Stirling

*30/09/05 -  DAVID latest - ALBUM is about half recorded now – He’s still writing like mad too! John may be down to write with him soon. David has recorded the new song ‘Heart’ and sent it to Struan. He says how amazing the new Straun school is. Nate James has been getting good Radio play and his Sheperd Bush Empire gig next week is selling well. With Downloading artists make their money doing gigs these days.

20/09/05 - New Struan - A World Class Centre for Autism, Official Opening Friday 16th September by Margaret Bell, the founding headmistress & local MSP George Reid. Over 100 guests & supporters attended, including BBC Fame academy stars David Sneddon and Richard Park. New Struan will use the latest research to develop techniques to provide support vital for children & adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Fundraising continues for equipment. 16/09/05 - NEW STRUAN school in Alloa.   Last Friday David attended the opening of the new school. David has composed a special new song ‘Heart’ expressing his thoughts from his many visits with the autistic children at Struan house. Many were moved to tears, including Dave.
The children now have a brand new school, thanks to the generosity of Sunday Mail readers, who raised 1.8 million.  Sunday Mail

16/09/05 - STRUAN CHARITY BALL. Later that day David attended the Struan Ball at Gleneagles Hotel. The architect of the new school spoke about his autistic 28 yr-old daughter and how the lack of facilities at the old school got him involved and inspired him to design the new school.

08/08/05 - NATE JAMES -‘ Set The Tone’ Album OUT NOW – includes David’s song ‘ The Message’ expected to be next single (in HMV, Virgin, Asda)
Early 2004 we wondered how David could move on from the 'Stop Living the Lie' image (a song written in 1995!)…..it seems the answer is simple, with new songs!

19/07/05 - DAVID & John have been writing in a remote highland cottage early July, for a new album later in the year. They are very excited about the new songs. David is now recording the songs at Jay and Jake's (from The Sham) studio.  (Full press report in Press - Daily Record)

23/07/05 - DAVID, or big div, spotted at the Basement Club, Glasgow. At a charity event for The Scottish Society for Autism, plus a mention of a 'techno' version release of Best Of Order

29/05/05 -  COLNE acoustic set.
David sang from the heart and inspired us with some wonderful music. With the familiar keyboards, John on acoustic and Harry Ward (Martians) on electric guitar. A very professional, highly entertaining and enjoyable hour of music.

07/03/05 - David has been songwriting with exciting new soul singer Nate James at Universal. His first single,'Set The Tone' is out now.

23/02/05 - *The Sham performed at the Boardwalk in Sheffield - great venue and the band on top form. Many fans braved the snow to attend. David announced plans for ' Album in the summer!.. Look out for it!'

27/02/05 - David made a hero's return to Paisley to launch a family fitness day and was a hit with hundreds of admiring fans. He posed for photos, cracked jokes and was delighted to be back in his hometown.

06/11/04 - THE CHILDREN'S TRUST at Tadworth. David, Jay and Jake visited The Children's Trust last Tuesday. They spent several hours meeting the children and staff and also performed an impromptu song. The Sham are providing the music at the 20th anniversary Children's Trust dinner.

01/11/04 - BBC SCOTLANDS 'Offside show.'
To set up a comp for a new Scottish World Cup song, John and Dave gave a very funny rendition of their spur of the moment song 'Dae Somthin!'

17/10/04 - GOODBYE BABY is NUMBER 2 on Seven Digital Website! On Radio 1 site - The Official UK Download Chart is based on the most popular,legally downloaded tracks in the UK. The Official UK top 20 Download Chart is announced on Radio One 6pm Wed and also on Sun.

13/10/04 - DAVID TALKS TO ACE about his comeback. Shunning public he's quietly put together a pop-rock band..to rediscover the magic that originally got him into music. It's less low-key than expected - The Sham's online single Goodbye Baby is set for No 3 in the new Download chart.

08/10/04 - ABERDEEN - "The difference is ..last year I was very much like a caricature of David Sneddon. The name became more than who I was." David said he found the whole experience strange and unsettling, despite stunning chart success with Stop Living The Lie.

1/10/04 - PAISLEY EXPRESS: "The record company told me that it wanted me to be like a solo Westlife!.. My manager suggested that I should get a band together and perform them myself. I said 'no' for a long time, but before Fame Academy I had always been the lead singer of a band - not a solo artist - and eventuallly I agreed."

25/09/04 - EVENING TIMES: I'm fed up with pop - I want to be a rock star! FAME Academy winner David Sneddon is back ... and this time he is playing by his own rules.

The group make their Scots gig debut at Glasgow's Merchant City Music Festival next Saturday, when they take to the Real Radio music stage at 5pm. 'I want this to be seen as a band in its own right. The material is quite different to what I did before.'

15/08/04 - DEBUT DOWNLOAD SINGLE:
The Sham announce they will be releasing Goodbye Baby on 10th October, for download on their new website the Shamband.com. At a cost of £1.50 and including an acoustic version of the song. The top ten download singles receive Radio 1 airplay.

11/08/04 - THE BEDFORD NEWSLETTER:
'On Tuesday, we had The Sham play their first ever gig. They were astonishingly good, no one could have believed it was their first ever gig. Keep your eyes open for big things from these guys.'(extract)

10/08/04 - GlASGOW EVENING TIMES:
David is back with his new band The Sham, and will be releasing a downloadable single under their own record label, hopefully in time for the first download charts the 1st September.

4/8/04 - B-SIDE: The day after the Bedford gig the band recorded the acoustic Goodnight Baby, for the B-side of their first download single, with Ed playing the bongo's.

28/07/04 - LONDON RADIO interview: David, Jay, and Jake talked about songwriting and recording with Tony Moore and Sadie Nine in this informative chat. David performed Star and Hiding from me acoustically.

24/07/04 - Live at the METRO! THE SHAM will be appearing at the metro club Oxford Street 17th August - Tickets £6 .
"THE SHAM are an up and coming rock band with fresh sounding, memorable melodies. They already have a devoted fan base and have now started to gig in London. Not much is known about the multi-national group (two of them are Scottish) except that so far they have been firm favorites where ever they have played. Rumor has it that the front man is former pop idol runner-up David Sneddon, who until now was considered missing at sea, after an unfortunate attempt at crossing the channel. No matter what the facts are one thing is clear, The Sham are coming, and they will rock you."

16/05/04 - REACHING FOR AFRICA concert. DAVID returns to performing and announces the new band. Fans gave David and John a standing ovation at the Charity concert in Glasgow. They performed two new songs, Only a Boy and Happy in Her Atmosphere.

14/03/04 HELP US BUILD NEW SCHOOL SONG FOR STRUAN - 'I've seen the huge difference this school makes. When you discover what some of the pupils were like their behaviour and inability to communicate it's amazing to see their progress. That's what makes Struan such a worthwhile place.' David Sneddon is coming out of retirement to raise cash for Struan. He will play an exclusive one-off concert for the school that raises most money for the centre for autistic children. 26/06/04 SHAM-ROCK STAR - Paisley Daily Express. New band for David. David Sneddon struck a chord with fans during his big showbiz comeback - by turning up the volume and transforming himself into a ROCK star. Record giants Universal, heard his new material.: "They were really impressed with the songs he'd written and asked him to form a band so he could perform them himself.

17/05/04 SNEDDON SET TO FRONT NEW BAND - Daily Record
David said he was persuaded to front up another band after record company Universal heard his songs. He now intends to play his own songs with fellow songwriter and long-time friend John Kielty.: 'I played some of the new songs I'd wrote to Universal. They asked why I wanted to write for others when my songs were good enough to be sung by me. John and I have spent the last nine months writing new songs and it has been like expecting a child we've made 40 babies.'

The Daily Record report on David's imminent appearance at the S.E.C.C in May. The Scots singer who quit the spotlight last year to focus on song- writing has agreed to join Scotland's largest massed choir for a charity event in May.

16/03/04 DAVID SINGS FOR AFRICA - Paisley Daily Express
David is coming out of retirement to raise money for Africa. Singers from a local choral group are tuning up for a concert appearance with top television recording star Patti Boulaye and Paisleys chart topper David Sneddon. Also taking part are other top stars including Boney m and Jim Diamond. It is on at the Armadillo SECC in Glasgow on Sunday 16th May.
